Luna Tide

Because summer is coming to an end, and fall is almost here, i’ve been trying to make the most of my summer wardrobe. This dress is an old favourite and I thought it deserved another feature.

To accessorize, i’ve added a few new pieces to the look. I’ve been a huge fan of crystal jewelry for a while now, and I was really excited to add some new pieces to my collection. These necklaces and bracelets are all from the lovely designer Luna.Tide . They are delicate, bohemian, and the perfect addition to this look! I also love how well they layer with each other. It’s nice to be able to wear multiple pieces at the same time.

As the end of summer creeps closer, there is added pressure to make the most of it. In terms of fashion, that means wearing all of your favourite summer pieces that will be rendered un wearable come October. This outfit for example, is something that I would wear in the summer months only. The shorts are pretty obviously not winter appropriate, but the poncho also falls into that category. Because of the lack of arm holes, it’s too difficult to wear a jacket or coat over top. Thus making it not very practical in cold weather.

There are pieces of this outfit that can actually be worn all year round, and those are the accessories. I wear hats and ankle boots no matter what the weather. Speaking of accessories, my favourite of all is this new bag by Genesis Fair Trade. I’m a sucker for cool patterns and great designs, and this bag has both! They are also an all around awesome company, so I recommend checking them out!

All Along the Watchtower

I talk about my love for band tee’s quite frequently, and I just want to point out that I don’t think that they are all created equal. They most certainly are not. I tend to go for ones featuring classic rock artists that I love, and that have some sort of vintage feel to them. That being said, I’m not calling out anyone who wears a T shirt of a band that they don’t listen to. To each their own. I just personally just really like classic rock, and prefer to wear shirts featuring artists that I like.

This look is a casual everyday style that consists of a few of my favourite items. These billabong shorts have been a staple in wardrobe for a while now. They are really comfortable, and because I always have a hard time finding shorts that I like, and that fit well,  I tend to just stick to a few that I love. I suppose it goes without saying, but this tee is easily a favourite of mine. It has a distinctly vintage feel to it, and it’s Jimi Hendrix, so what’s not to love?

Wish You Were Here

This look is both similar and different to my usual style. I have a large collection of Band tee’s so this one fits nicely into the collection. These jeans on the other hand, are much lighter than anything I ever wear. I usually opt for a medium to dark wash when it comes to denim, so this is really stepping out of my comfort zone. Light wash denim has a distinctly summer feel to it, so that makes it perfect for this time of year!

Getting In Tune

We’ve been having a bit of a heatwave in Alberta lately. It’s been hot, extremely hot. I’m not exactly complaining about it, but i’m just saying that I don’t fair too well in extreme heats. That being said, I’ve been living in denim shorts and tank tops for the most part. Kimono’s and the lightest weight cardigans, are the only things i’ve been using to layer. This kimono from Below the Belt, is one of the recent additions to my ever growing collection. I love the pattern, and the material is incredibly light and flowy making it perfect for summer. To accessorize this look, I added this wide brimmed brixton hat. It’s quickly becoming a favourite of mine! I also added this dainty necklace by Shesso, and a pair of strapy sandals by Steve Madden

Magic Dance

When it comes to fashion and style, I like to stick to what I know and love. This summer, that translates into a large collection of kimono’s. There’s just something about them that I love! They are also one of the only way to layer and not over heat in the summer. This one in particular is from Free People, and I love the pattern and colours! For the rest of this look I wore a body suit, and a pair of levi’s shorts. I have a hard time finding shorts that fit well, so I was very happy to find these! To accessorize I kept things relatively simple with a hat and necklace!

Breakdown

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect jumpsuit all spring and summer. I eventually found what I was looking for at Anthropology! It can be tricky to find the right fit when it comes jumpsuits and rompers, but I think this style is pretty versatile.  The length doesn’t matter as much when it’s tight at the bottom, as apposed to something that is straight legged. To accessorize this look I kept things really simple with a necklace and bangles. For footwear, I chose a pair of strappy Steve Madden sandals.
