This dress sort of reminds me of a crocheted blanket. I’m pretty sure my mom has one in a very similar colour way. I think that might be part of the reason that I love it so much. Much like a crocheted blanket, it has a distinctly 70’s vibe to it, and that is another reason why I love it. Basically I just love everything about this dress, from the pattern and the colours, to the material that it’s made of. Sometimes you see something and you just think to your self, that was made for me! That is how I feel about this dress! For the rest of this look, I added these new Steve Madden booties. I have a large collection already but these fit in perfectly!

I’ve got two main obsessions when it comes to accessories, and they are scarves, and hats. I’ve got a large collection of both and I love it. This look features two of my all time favourites. I love this scarf because of it’s colour and pattern. It’s a staple in my wardrobe this time of year, mainly because it goes really well with my winter coat! I tend to buy a lot of clothing in similar shades and tones, and it makes my life a lot easier when it comes to choosing outfits. It’s always a good idea to figure out how well a piece will integrate into your wardrobe before buying it.

Although it’s starting to warm up now, it’s been really cold in Calgary these past few weeks. The cold weather makes taking photos outdoors a lot less desirable, but I did manage to get these. Luckily for me, this vest is pretty warm. I think that this look has a very outdoorsy Canadian vibe to it. I would probably throw on a different pair of boots if I was out exploring, but I think you get the idea. While shooting these photos we saw a couple of people out cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the park. I’d never really thought about doing that before and it seems like a great way to get exercise without even leaving the city!

I’ve been obsessing over this Free People dress for quite some time now. I was especially drawn to the colour, and the delicate pattern of the material. Needless to say, I eventually caved and ordered it. I have a habit of waiting to see if the item that I want will go on sale before I make a purchase. Sometimes this backfires and the item sells out, but sometimes it doesn’t, and my patience pays off. During the holiday season this is usually a great strategy. With black Friday now a thing in Canada, as well as boxing day, great deals are not hard to find!

Now that it’s a new year, i’m looking forward to all the new adventures and opportunities that it brings. I’ve got a few resolutions, nothing too extreme, I mostly just want to focus on saving money, being a little more active, and eating healthier.
This look is one of my favourites all year round. Obviously on cold winter days I would have a jacket to go along with it. I think you might get bored of seeing me wear the same few jackets over and over. This look has everything that I love from band tee’s and cardigans to ankle boots. When you find a combination that you love, it’s nice to stick with it for a while!

Now that 2016 has come to an end, I thought i’d do a quick roundup of some of my favourite looks from the past year. So here they are from January until now, enjoy!
Happy New Year everyone!
