As you probably already know I live In Calgary Alberta. Right now in Calgary there’s a little thing going on called the Calgary Stampede. There’s a Rodeo and pancake breakfasts and all that good stuff. A lot of people in the city dress up like Cowboys and Cowgirls for a little over a week. I myself not being that big into western wear decided to put my own spin on the western look and call it a day. I’m sure I will be busting out my suede fringe vest shortly but until then this is what I’m going with.
I’m really into crop tops this summer, I haven’t always been a fan but when done right they can be awesome. I find that with the right bandeau bra they can go perfectly with a pair of shorts or skirt and not be too revealing. I got this top from Forever 21. They had a lot of awesome band shirts not too long ago and I definitely took advantage of that. I paired it with these cut off denim shorts and well if thats not western I don’t know what is.
I’m not a big fan of cowboy hats. They can look really nice on some people but they’re just not my style. This Felt hat has a little bit of a western vibe to it and well heck that’s good enough for me. Lastly, I do not own a pair of cowboy boots which are the obvious choice for any western inspired outfit. These suede booties will have to do for me. So that is my spin on western wear it’s defiantly not traditional in any way but I like it!
