Living on the Edge with Ford

One of my favourite things about living in Calgary is being close to the mountains. There’s just no better way to rest and recharge than being out in nature. Last week Tyrell and I had the opportunity to take the 2019 Ford Edge on a road trip to Jasper. It’s been at least a year since we’ve been out to that area, so I was really excited to go back! For starters the Ford Edge is the perfect road trip vehicle. It has a ton of features that make it perfect for highway driving! The Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, slows you down if you get too close to another vehicle, it’s reassuring to know that even if you don’t notice the car in front slowing down, the vehicle does! It also includes a Lane Keeping System, which helps keep the vehicle centred in it’s lane. This feature makes a long drive a little more relaxing. I also found the Blind Spot information System very useful while on the highway, Even when shoulder checking, other cars can sneak up, so it’s nice to have even more awareness. Another feature that I liked is the Rearview Camera. It’s really useful when it comes to parking and backing up! Aside from all that, it’s a beautiful vehicle with lots of room, making it the perfect vehicle for any road trip or adventure!

Jasper’s a really cool area to explore, and staying in the Glacier View Lodge was such a treat! The Interior of the hotel is absolutely beautiful, and having a view of the glacier was an added bonus. My favourite part of the trip was going out onto the Athabasca Glacier for the evening, followed by a delicious dinner at the Altitude Restaurant. The next day we drove out to the Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen for lunch, before heading out to explore the Canyon and surrounding area. It was such a great trip, and I honestly just love the chance to be a tourist in my own province!
